HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is a standard markup language for web page creation. It allows the creation and structure of sections, paragraphs, and links using HTML elements (the building blocks of a web page) such as tags and attributes.
HTML elements tell the browser how to display the content. HTML elements label pieces of content such as "this is a heading", "this is a paragraph", "this is a link", etc.
Tim Berners-Lee invented HTML in 1991. He Also Invented WWW( world wide web ) in 1989. HTML and CSS specifications are maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

The World Wide Web Consortium, also known as W3C, is the standards organization for the World Wide Web. It is founded in 1994 and led by Tim Berners-Lee, the consortium is made up of member organizations that maintain full-time staff working together in the development of standards for the World Wide Web.
